Reading the thread
A bare tag with no question still works. The bot reads the tweet it was tagged under, finds the ticker or contract address in it, and answers about that token — which is the common case, since people tag it under somebody else's call.
It will not answer a thread it has nothing to say about. A tag under an off-topic conversation, or on a token from another chain, gets a short reply saying so rather than an answer assembled out of nothing.
Who gets a reply
X's own rate limits are hard, and a bot that answers everything answers nobody well. So:
- Verified accounts — a checkmark of any colour — get answers.
- Scouty Pro members get answers with no checkmark and no cap, once their X account is linked to their wallet.
- Everyone else gets one note, once, pointing at the web app.
The Pro rule follows you here too: a Pro question — X sentiment, FOMO theses or a trader profile, what's pumping, the screener — from an author without a pass gets one line a day saying where to get one, and no answer. Every other question is answered normally.
Linking X to your wallet
The link is one public tweet. No OAuth, and no app ever gets access to your account.
In the web app, signed in with the wallet that holds the pass. The linking section appears once a pass is active.
Scouty gives you a six-character code and a pre-filled compose link.
It reads @AskScoutyAI link ABC234. Post it from the X account you want linked.
The bot's mention poller sees the tweet and binds the author to your wallet. You can delete the tweet immediately afterwards.
The account identity comes from X's own API, not from anything typed in the tweet, so somebody else copying your code cannot claim your pass.
Replies are short
A reply is a glance, not a report — roughly a couple of hundred characters. It carries the two or three figures that answer the question and leaves the rest for the web app, where the same question returns the full read.
What it will not do
- Give a safety verdict on a contract. Same rule as everywhere else.
- Post a contract address or a link that was not in the data it fetched.
- Write a FOMO handle with an
@, which on X would tag a different person. - Tell you to buy anything.
